Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of the Club was held in the Omiha hall on Saturday 15 November. It has been another good year for the club and we find ourselves in a good position in terms of increasing membership and assets. Members stayed after the meeting for a barbecue at Mary Wilson park.
2009 Regatta news
The 2009 Regatta will be held on Saturday 3 January 2009 starting at 10.00am. This will be a true Rocky Bay Regatta and will feature all the family fun activities we have come to expect at this very popular event. Sand sculpture will start at 10.30 and there will be canoe races, swimming races for all ages. We will also feature the keeler race at 10.30am, Jolly boats at noon, lasers at 1.00pm and powerboats at 2.00pm. Rain date 4 January.
Club picnic and cruise 2009
This will be held on Saturday 14th February 2009 and will be held at Watson Bay. Be there around 11.00am and bring a plate for a bbq. If the weather is bad it will be held at Mary Wilson park. Watch out for an update notice on the day by the flag pole.
Fishing competition day
This will be on Saturday 7 March starting at 6.00am. Sign in at the tent by the boat ramp and weigh in will be 2.00pm. If you have questions contact me or Ray Smith. You can fish anywhere within sight of Koi Island, off a boat or off the land.
Fisho of the Year
This has already started and will run until 31 October 2009! Contact Ray Smith if you want to enter.
The entry fee is $25 and the same rules apply as the Fishing Competition mainly that all fish need to be caught within sight of Koi Island. The first contest in 2008 was a great success and the following prize winners were announced at the AGM:
Third prize = Ray Smith (2.14 kg)
Second prize = Craig Gordon (2.25kg)
First prize = Clare Stratton (3.32kg)
A special “hard luck prize was awarded to Ray Smith who actually hooked a whale in the Tamaki Straight.

Moorings
If you require your mooring to be inspected please contact me on stratton111@xtra.co.nz as I will be in touch with a mooring contractor to organise a visit to the bay in March/April next year to service them.

And they will be on sale at the Regatta on 3rd January
ANNUAL SUBSCRIPTION:
These are due in by 20th December. Please refer to the attached subscription sheet for all the club charges. There have been no changes from last year. If you have already paid, our thanks for your prompt attention.
If you have changed your postal or email address. Please ensure you advise us, so newsletters and notices still find their way to you. (We have quite a number of e-mails bounce back when sending information)
